August, 2016. A visit to Zeballos with effort to reach Nuchatlitz Provincial Park. But, denied by wind after paddling Esperanza Inlet for miles. Hot weather created gale force winds everyday throughout the region. The pattern was consistent and wind speeds stayed strong. With limited time, Jeff and I headed east to Telegraph Cove and Johnstone Strait as fall back in quest of a full moon, low tides and wildlife. We got it all > in front row seats. Our exit from Esperanza Inlet was shared with a Humpback Whale by our side. The greeting to Johnstone immediately opened with a Yearling Black Bear, Orca, Blackfish, Seals, Dolphins and more as neighbors. As guests of the sea, spectacular wilderness revealed. An excellent way to close summer with amazing weather on the inside passage.
